And so the dynamic becomes the process of both sharpening yourself to undercut (backstab, throat slash, or what ever else works) the other guy, and then practicing the dance of blades to see who's left standing. All the while leaving few to contemplate, let alone appreciate, the overall utility of all this bloodletting in the first place.
