Even though this is speculative it has enough smoke around it to suggest a real fire. Trump's debt to income ratio has him in a very bad position. So bad in fact that if the full truth ever got his shell game of barrowing from Peter to pay Paul would come to a screeching halt.
What if someone with his own means at getting at the truth, means not subject to our laws and moral hesitations, got wind of the real picture? Someone the likes of Mr. Putin for instance. If that were the case, you can't help but wonder how much leverage that might give the actual dictator. And maybe the situation is more concrete than simply refraining from revealing the truth. Maybe Putin is secretly funneling cash to our Lord of the Tantrum Text, and if Trump doesn't keep dancing to Putin's tune, the money goes away.
Again, this is speculative, but it begs some very troubling questions. And the really interesting thing to keep in mind here is that the doubt that might be created here could be dispelled in an instant if Trump would just come clean on his tax returns.
